Giving Strategy
On Thursday, March 31st 2022, the Board of Trustees of Holywood Steiner School launched its Giving Strategy, which supports the ongoing growth and development ambitions of the school.
As part of an international network of Steiner Waldorf schools, Holywood Steiner School offers the international Waldorf curriculum which focuses on the whole child, offering an antidote to the rigorous burden of academic testing and selection that prevails in today’s world.
Esther Haller Clarke, Chair of the Board of Trustees said: "The Giving Strategy marks an exciting milestone in the history of the school and its delivery will provide funding to enhance the curriculum, widen access, and expand the built environment, all of which will help secure an exciting future for the school and ensure we can continue to deliver a quality educational experience that equips students for their next steps in life"
With a timetable of activity that is adjusted to the learning needs of the individual child and an outdoor curriculum that encourages interaction with the natural environment, the woodland campus is the perfect backdrop for freedom of movement and thought that is encouraged in the school.
Peter Chambers, Headteacher said: ‘I have witnessed first hand how the Waldorf approach works for pupils from pre-school right through to GCSE age. It builds responsible citizens, ready to take their place in the world as young adults, with an empathy for others and an understanding and appreciation of the world around them.”
Sourcing and securing private and public funding are paramount in realising the exciting ambitions for growth and development. The Board is seeking to widen the patronage of the school, to open its doors to the local community and beyond, building lasting relationships with individuals and companies who share its goal of delivering an outstanding creative educational program and instilling a love of learning in all children.
There are a number of ways in which help can be provided, from individual donations to corporate sponsorship from companies who may also enjoy engaging with students as part of the corporate social responsibility programme.
